What are backup and disaster recovery? Backup is the regular copying of data, while disaster recovery (DR) is the plan that enables systems and data to be restored quickly after a failure, attack or disaster. The 3-2-1 rule is the core principle of this field.

Bilgi Teknoloji Danışmanlık builds and tests a 3-2-1 backup strategy, NAS and cloud backup, immutable copies and disaster-recovery plans.

Overview

Do you have a backup — or can you actually recover?

Many businesses think they're backing up but can't recover in a crisis. Real protection comes from a regular, automated, multi-copy and tested backup. The 3-2-1 rule is the foundation: three copies, two different media, one off-site.

We back up your data locally (NAS) and in the cloud, keep immutable copies against ransomware and — most importantly — regularly test the recovery process. You'll know in advance how quickly you can be back up (RTO) in a disaster.

Key benefits

  • Assurance with 3-2-1

Three copies, two media, one off-site; prevent single-point data loss.

  • Ransomware-resilient backup

With immutable backups, attackers can't delete your backup.

  • Tested recovery

Answer the question "can we actually recover?" with regular restore tests.

  • Fast recovery

With a disaster-recovery plan, critical systems are back within minutes/hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about backup & disaster recovery

Taking backups and being able to recover in a crisis are different things. We test the regularity, scope and — most importantly — the restorability of your backups; often-overlooked gaps come to light.
Three copies of data are kept on two different media (e.g. NAS + cloud), with at least one copy off-site. This approach protects against single-point loss risks such as fire, theft or ransomware.
Ordinary backups can be a target. That's why we use immutable, access-segregated backups; even if an attacker gets into the network, they can't delete or encrypt these copies.
It depends on the RTO (recovery time) target we set. For critical systems we design recovery setups on the order of minutes to hours and verify them with tests.
